Built in 1831, the Hermann-Grima House is one of the most significant residencies in New Orleans. This handsome Federal mansion with its courtyard garden boasts the only horse stable and functional 1830's outdoor kitchen in the French Quarter. For centuries, the Hermann-Grima courtyard was a place of both physical and psychological relief from the sounds, smells, and heat of the streets of the French Quarter. Through today, this richly planted courtyard provides a spectacular setting for unforgettable special events for up to 250 guests.

Open House Information
Events are primarily held outside in the beautiful courtyard, however to enhance your guests experience, the house can be open throughout your event for guests to tour and explore a little bit of history with our knowledgeable museum docents. There is a $50 fee per docent and we do require a minimum of two docents per event. Please ask your sales manager for more details. In order to keep up with our preservation efforts of the museum, we ask that you and your guests keep all food and beverages in the courtyard area.
Because the Hermann-Grima Courtyard is an open air courtyard, there is a risk of inclement weather during an event. In the event if inclement weather, the client will incur the cost of the tent. The decision to tent the courtyard must be made no later than 24 hours in advance of the contracted event. Please ask your sales manager for vendor information.
Corporate and Social Gatherings
The courtyard is a perfect venue to entertain business clients or celebrate friends and family. Our staff handles all set-up and breakdown of your event and all necessary equipment such as china, glassware, and silver are all included with your selected menu. We will also provide tables for seating as well as cocktail tables, but because each event is different, the number of tables and chairs will be determined during the planning process.
Wedding Ceremonies and Receptions
The Hermann-Grima courtyard is one of the most unique venues in the French Quarter for a wedding. Here are some details about planning your wedding with us:
Our events team will handle all set-up and breakdown for all wedding ceremonies whether it is for 30 guests or 200 guests. For a fee of $500, we will provide up to 150 white-wood folding chairs as well as two staff members for set-up and breakdown. Should you require different chairs or would like chair covers, we will be happy to assist you with selections from our vendor, however any additional costs associated will be your responsibility. Please speak to your sales manager for more information.
Ceremony and Reception
Should you decide to host both your wedding ceremony and reception in the Courtyard, there is no additional fee for the ceremony set-up. Ralph Brennan Events will provide all necessary equipment to service your event including glassware, china, flatware, buffet tables, and linens. We also provide some seating and cocktail tables based on the number of expected guests.
